Position Summary:
The Digital Post Technician will ...
be focused on processing digitally shot footage from one format to another. Working in a post production type of environment, the ideal candidate will be used to spending their time at a computer workstation dealing with and manipulating the media.
A technically oriented assistant editor/assistant colorist may have the ideal skill-set. Creating DVDs, AVID and/or Final Cut Pro media (DnxHD, ProRes, MXF, etc.) is the main task. Syncing sound captured separately on set is also one of the main duties. This position requires working many overnight shifts.
Those interested in learning more about the new world of Digital Cinema production and post will be rewarded by working in an immerse environment with a team of people where knowledge is shared and future opportunities abundant. Only those who share our passion for continually learning new software/post workflow techniques need apply.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
· Very strong computer experience (primarily Mac-based).
· Knowledge of Final Cut Pro, AVID, DVD Studio Pro a strong asset.
· An understanding of timecode and the offline to online process.
· Knowledge of RED camera and its associated workflows.
· Must understand formats, codecs, and codec conversion.
· Apple Compressor experience is an asset.
· Training is provided, however, preference will be given to those with the ideal skill set in place.
