Any suggestions?

Hello Everyone,

I am still very new to this whole video thing and am just starting to get gear together. Right now I have a Macbook Pro and FCS but I don't have any sort of camera. I was hoping that maybe some of you might be able to suggest some fairly inexpensive video cameras I could look into. This will just be for personal use so I certainly do not need anything high end.

Thanks,
Nathan

Hi Nathan,
Your best bet is to start with Canon HV20 or HV30. You can get a new one for about $800 and used for about $500. They are incredible prosumer camera that can do incredible stuff

Hope this helps

I'd look for a used HDV camera if you can afford one. They shoot in HDV and will interface to FCP through your FW port on the MBPro. No need for an external I/O device. You can aso monitor the output of the camera to a TV or Monitor.

Check at Vistek or on ebay.
